Growing up, Allard played junior hockey for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

During the 2021–22 season, he was traded by the Predators to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Brayden Burke and was assigned to join the AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
As a restricted free agent, Allard was re-signed by the Angeles Kings to a one-year, two-way contract extension on July 1, 2023.
In the 2022–23 season, Allard continued on assignment with the Ontario Reign but in March 2023, the Angeles Kings traded him to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Nate Schnarr.
Frederic Allard was immediately re-assigned to continue in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Laval Rocket where he plays as a defenceman.
